Swiss pony team rider Valentina Bona has secured herself a future ride for junior level and beyond: theGerman Grand Prix horse Siena.

The 14-year old Bona just won bronze at the 2019 Swiss Pony Champion and is set to compete Douglas de Luxe for Switzerland at the 2019 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, Poland, on 14 - 18 August 2019. She is also preparing for a gradual transition to horses and junior level in the near future.

The Bona family has acquired Susann Konrad's 13-year old Oldenburg mare Siena (by Sandro Hit x Lorentin x Calato).

Konrad, who is a dentist by profession and based in Radolfzell at the Bodensee, discovered the mare at the horse dealing yard of Ignaz Berger. They made their show debut in 2011.

In 2013 the combination made the transition to Prix St Georges level and in 2016 they moved to Grand Prix level. The pair has only once competed at an international show. At the 2018 CDI Donaueschingen they finished 19th in the Grand Prix with 65.457%.

In 2019, Konrad and Siena competed at only two regional shows in March and April, winning two times and placing in the top three in all five classes at those shows.

Siena sold to Valentina's mum, Austrian Dagmar Bona, in May.
