Portuguese Horses Selected for 2019 World Young Horse Championships

The Portuguese Equestrian Federation has nominated the horse-and-rider combinations to represent Portugal at the 2019 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 1 -  4 August 2019. 

Portugal is fielding three pairs to Ermelo, all foreign based. Two horses are Portuguese Sport Horse bred (Lusitano cross bred) and one is a Hanoverian ridden by a Portuguese rider.

Representing Portugal are:

  • Ana Teresa Pires (POR) - Braveaux, a 5-year old Hanoverian by Bordeaux x Florestan, owned by Asa Bjorklund 
  • Eric Guardia Martinez (ESP) - Join Me de Massa, a 5-year old Portuguese Sport Horse by Everdale x Rieto, owned by Helgstrand
  • Kirsten Brouwer (NED) - Cesar de Massa, a 7-year old Portuguese Sport Horse by Rieto x Munchhausen, owned by Sylvain Massa
