The Westfalian association is following the latest trends and has also begun with online foal auctions. In its first smaller online auction, which concluded on 2 September 2017, the jumper foals were the top sellers.
A collection of just 14 foals were offered for sale through an online bidding process.
The best seller was the jumper colt Canterburry (by Cornet Obolensky x Lancer II), bred by Norbert and Philip Horstmeyer. He sold for 16,500 euro.
The second most expensive foal was another jumper colt, Chicago K (by Cornet Obolensky x Baloubet de Rouet), bred by Herman and Katharina Kretz. He sold for 9,500 euro.
The most expensive dressage foal was the colt Sir Sinclair (by Sir Heinrich x Lord Sinclair), bred by Eberhard and Hildegard Gerotzke. He sold for just 5,500 euro.
The Westfalian society is already planning a second online foal auction. They will also offer pregnant broodmares in this next auction.
