Hendrik Klatte of Gestut Klatte in Lastrup, Germany, has sold two of his pride stallions, Granulit and Ruiz Soler. The white power ball stallion Granulit has found a new home in South Africa.

Born in 1992, the Oldenburg stallion Granulit is a Grannus x Romanow x Herold offspring and was licensed in 1994. Presented at the licensing by his owner Mr. Hinnerk, Granulit made a big impression with his three strong gaits. The stallion moved to the Klatte station in 1995 after having won the Stallion Performance Test in Neustadt/Dosse with 137.81 points. At Klatte, Granulit bred for many years and was trained and competed in dressage (PSG level) and show jumping (M-level). , and was last standing at stud at Gestut Kothe in Wacken, Germany. Famous Granulit offspring is the stallion Get Smart and the auction horse Gelasius.

Klatte's 7-year old Ruiz Soler attracted the interest of an American and the bay stallion was immediately sold to the United States. "We decided to sell him because it was just a very good offer," Hendrik Klatte explained.

Although Ruiz Soler is sired by dressage stallion Rubinstein, his dam Larentina (by Argentinus x Leibnitz) provided a strong influx of show jumping talent into Ruiz' blood. Ruiz was Stallion Performance Test winner in Neustadt/Dosse scoring 9s and 10s on rideability and show jumping. Ruiz Soler has a full brother, Rubinstolz, who was licensed in 2000 in Baden Wurttemberg.

With the departure of Granulit and Ruiz Soler, Stallion Station Klatte will still have 12 licensed stallions up for stud. Argentinus is of course Klatte's most famous sire, but his collection also include young stars Abke, Farewell III, Dr Doolittle and the lovely 13-year old Levantos I.
