Vivien, Top Seller of 2023 Westfalian Autumn Broodmare Auction

The Westfalian breed society continues to auction horses at a steady pace even though the foal and autumn elite auction wrapped up. This time it was a collection of 17 broodmares, ten of them dressage bred. The bidding ended on 9 October 2023.

Vivien (by Vitalis x Sir Donnerhall), bred by Eugene Reesink and owned by Noortje Radstake, sold for the top price: 18,500 euro. The mare is in foal to Succession. The Dutch bred and owned mare will return to The Netherlands. 

Three other mares sold for over 10K, but they were all jumping bred. 

Valea (by Vivaldi x Sir Tender) went for 8,500 euro, Sinfonie (by Sir Donnerhall x Vitalis) for 7,750 euro, Zehntes Gebot (by Zoom x Riccio) for 7,250 euro, Daria (by Danciano de Malleret x Don Frederico) for 6,250 euro, just like Idol SN (by Ivanhoe x Damon Hill).

Feenya (by Finnigan x De Niro) and Fee (by Fairytale x Samarant) both sold for 6,500 euro, while Danja M (by Dubarry x Likoto xx) went for 6,000 euro. 

Fifteen of the 17 offered mares sold. They achieved an average price of 9.417 euro.
