Be Pretty and Viva Valentina, Best Sellers of the 2023 Westfalian June Auction

The 4-year old Be Pretty and the foal Viva Valentina became the best selling horses in the online auction which the Westfalian breeding society organized and of which the final, online bidup was on 11 and 12 June 2023. 

Sport Horses: Be Pretty

Thirty-eight horses were offered for sale and 34 actually sold an average price of 19,243 euro. Twenty-four of them were dressage bred.

The best seller of the sport horse collection was Be Pretty (by Baron x Dollman). Bred by Hendrik Schulte-Märter, this mare was third ranked at the 2022 Westfalian elite mare show and now sold for 44,500 euro to a German buyer. 

The most expensive show jumper was Celia (by Crusoe), who sold for 38,500 euro to Finland.

Zuperbunt (by Zoom x Furst Heinroch) changed hands for 38,000 euro. Scarlett B (by Secret x Argentinus) will remain in Germany for 37,000 euro.

The licensed riding pony stallion Dauphin K (by Dallmayr K x Olivier K), who won the bronze medal at the Bundeschampionat last year, will stay in Germany for 20,500 euro.

Freddie Mercury (by Fynch Hatton x Totilas) sold for 25,000 euro, Ferrari (by Furst Wilhelms x Royal of Loy) for 23,500 euro, Zandro (by Zoom x First Selection) fetched 22,500 euro.

An American bought Eduardo (by Escamillo x Fidertanz) for 22,000 euro, while Samson (by So Unique x Sir Heinrich) moves to Belgium for 21,000 euro and Falling in Love (by For Romance x Damon Hill) for 15,500 euro. Sarou de la Rouge Eau (by Secret x Hotline) goes to Switzerland for 18,000 euro.

Foals: Viva Valentina

On 12 June the online bidding for the foal collection came to a conclusion and Viva Valentina (by Velvedere x Fahrenheit) became the best seller of the lot. Of the 20 foals offered for sale and the 17 that actually sold, she was the most expensive one, selling for 25,500 euro. 

Bred by Simon Holkenbrink and owned by Anna-Maria Settertobulte, Viva Valentina will stay in Germany.

The filly Dorina (by Dynamic Dream x Escamillo) was the second most expensive one, selling for 17,500 euro. Zauber II (by Zuberlehrling x De Niro) sold for 14,000 euro to Belgium. 

Six foals sold for more than 10,000 euro. Total Joy (by Total Hope x San Amour) went for 12,500 euro, Valea (by Viva Vitalis x Floriscount) for 15,000 euro to The Netherlands, and Marvel WF (by Monte Carlo x Dancier) for 10,000 euro to Denmark. 

Swiss clients bought Santana B (by St. Emilion x Vivaldi) for 7,250 euro, a Belgian secured Zoom's Little Dancer (by Zoom x Vitalis) for 6,750 euro. 

The average price for a foal in this auction was 9,441 euro.
