Anke Simon win the 2018 South German Professional Dressage Riders Championships

After a collaboration of two years German professional dressage rider Anke Simon is leaving employer Von Staff-Reitzenstein in Bad Rappenau, Germany.

In her two years as head rider at Reitzenstein's Oberbiegelhof, Simon achieved numerous successes, mainly at a regional level. She won, for instance, the 2018 South German Professional Dressage Riders Championships and has been training Sir Skyfall OLD (by Sandro Hit x K2) to Prix St Georges level. Under Frederic Wandres, the Oldenburg gelding was fourth at the 2017 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo.

However, Simon will leave Reitzenstein on 1 February 2019 and recharge her batteries at the Schneider-Bader yard, where she is filling in for the pregnant Christiane Bader.

"Numerous competition horses were sold and are for sale. For me that's the end of it," Simon commented to Reiter Journal. "At Bader's I can reflect on a decision, where the road will take me."

Sir Skyfall OLD, who has not competed since Ermelo, has moved in training with Katrin Burger.

The family von Staff-Reitzenstein has focused on horse sport and breeding for years. They were known as regular shoppers at the auction. The now 24-year old Julius von Staff-Reitzenstein represented Finland at the 2015 European Young Riders Championships on the Hanoverian Stepdancer. After the 2015 CDI Darmstadt, the young rider quit competition.
