Honduras, Top Seller at the 2014 Klosterhof Medingen Auction

The 10-year old Hanoverian gelding Honduras (by Hohenstein x Akut) became the top selling horse at the 2014 Klosterhof Medingen auction on Saturday 27 September 2014.

The Intermediaire I level successful black gelding sold for 215,000 euro to a dressage stable in the Hamburg area.

Nineteen sport horses aged between four and ten were auctions at Burkhard Wahler's Klosterhof in Bad Bevensen, Germany, achieving an average price of 72,000 euro.

Japanese customers paid 150,000 euro for the 4-year old Oldenburg bred De Luxe (by De Niro x Sion). The 6-year old liver chestnut mare Fliederblüte (by Fidertanz x Donnerhall x Thymian xx) sold for 140,000 euro to a stable in Lower Saxony.

The 6-year old Hanoverian gelding Devino (by Dancier x Wolkentanz I) as well as the 8-year old Trakehner licensed stallion Iskander (by Le Rouge x Hohenstein) sold for 120,000 euro.  The latter sold to Berlin.

The most expensive foal in the auction also moved to Berlin. The filly Que Sera (by Quantensprung x Caprimond) sold for 38,000 euro.  Colt Quotenkaiser (by Quantensprung x De Niro) sold for 37,000 euro. Danciero, the full brother to the Celle state stud stallion Dancier (by De Niro x Lancier) switched owners for 32,000 euro.

The average price for the 31 foals sold at this auction was 13,000 euro.
